Experiencing History is a KS2 Drama and History project that supports the Primary Literacy Framework. It develops partnerships between schools and their local heritage giving pupils a hands-on opportunity to explore the history that surrounds them.

Working alongside an experienced drama practitioner, pupils will develop research, drama and script-writing skills as they create an exciting, interactive performance for, and alongside, a local heritage site.

Experiencing History is a six-week project that includes 12 hours curriculum contact time with pupils, a two hour twilight session for members of staff and a half-day session at the heritage site for the performance.

This project will provide an alternative, innovative focus for your literacy work and, where appropriate, support the primary history curriculum.
